In the beginning

Alright. Alright. Allllrrrriigghhhhttt! I've resisted long enough. So I've created my own blog. Satisfied? Like I don't have enough "to do's" in my days! Please!

I suppose now I'm expected to be witty and entertaining. Oh, the pressure!! Well, let me say this - did you pay to get here? Ever hear of the concept "you get what you pay for?" Is your bubble sufficiently busted yet?

What? Still here? oh, ok........ Allow me to introduce myself. I'm a happily married SAHM (stay at home mom.) DH (Robert) and I have colaborated on the production of 2 of the cutiest little girls you'll ever see. DH earns a living as a computer geek. He's also my Prince Charming. Seriously, the man is beyond wonderful and (sorry, ladies) he's mine, all mine. We're going on 10 years now and to my amazement he seems to love me more now than he did when we took the Vows. This marriage thing just gets better every day. How cool is that?

Raven (Ravie-doll) is 7. Anna (Kiddie-Kate or Kitty-Kate) is 5. If there's anyone left in the universe that doesn't know it: Anna's birthday is coming up soon. She's on a quest to tell Everybody. My kids are outgoing and friendly. They never meet a stranger. Only someone who doesn't know all our family secrets - - yet. Thank goodness, DH and I aren't felony prone.

As for pets, isn't a husband and 2 kids close enough? I'll just settle for the deer in the back yard. And I love seeing our feathered friend, the hawk who apparently owns our back yard and is kind enough to allow us to use it. But frankly, I could EASILY live without the snake on the front porch. I don't CARE how much he likes us. It's not a mutual liking. And oh, don't we just love that phrase "it's a good snake." Let me enlighten you people here - "good" snakes are only found one place - the planet Pluto.

DH has been working way, way, way too hard lately. So we've been a bit behind schedule on family fun. But this past weekend we did get to attend the Civil War Reenactment at Tannehill. It was awesome! I believe this was our 4th reenactment and I can now report that you will enjoy sitting in front of the cannons a great deal more if you have hearing protection.

We try to keep the kids hopping with fun learning experiences. This past school year I did something I never, ever, ever would have expected me to do. I homeschooled my kids. It turned out pretty good, if for no other reason than the kids are geniuses. I think they could have just about taught themselves. Ravie favored Bible, history and science. Anna is a math whiz already. She buzzed through K5 like the proverbal hot knife and butter. I don't know how long we'll do this but it sure was nice to not have to make the 50 mile round trip to church school. Don't get me wrong, we loved church school. But homeschool just solved a list of logistical problems this year. And it worked out great, so we'll see.

How 'bout we put the end on this first installment and meet back here later? I'd love to share my thoughts and opinions. I might actually enjoy this blogging-thingie yet.

Thanks, Love. Sure is nice to have in-house tech support. Well, at least it is when you're actually "in-house." Really missed you lately!
